Hi there! My name is Victoria and I am the owner of Maylilly Soaps & Bath Treats. I make handmade soaps, bath bombs, bath truffle melts and sugar scrubs. I live in a coastal town south of Sydney, Australia with my husband and two beautiful daughters Lilly (3) and Zoe (1), and our 2 cats Ollie and Deanie.
How my obsession with soap started...
One day back in 2009 I stumbled upon a website that was all about making soaps, skincare and bath treats.The idea of creating my own products was incredibly exciting and I was especially intrigued with the soapmaking side of things, so I ordered a melt and pour kit. I seemed to have a knack at layering and found it to be rather rewarding, and I wanted to move onto cold process soapmaking.
I had a little bit of a break (whilst planning a wedding, building a house and 2 pregnancies), but that didn't stop me watching my fave soapmakers on YouTube, or reading blog after blog. I was finally able to get back into soaps and bath treats late last 2012. The love was still there.
I took the plunge at the start of 2013 and made my first cold process soap. I love the look of raw soap and of freshly swirled soap. I love creating designs, and piping soap, and soap cupcakes. My dream is to one day have a purpose built soapmaking room with its own kitchen and curing area.
I guess you could say I am little bit obsessed with soap.
Most of my soaps are made using the the traditional cold process method. I use many natural ingredients such as Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Cocoa and Shea Butters (and many more). The palm oil I use is from sustainable sources (I do have some soaps that are totally palm oil free as well).
I use essential oils and high quality fragrance oils and skin safe colours.
